THE PEN PAL PROGRAM

While we often think about how we can help others and teach them, speaking from our privilege and opportunities, in fact, we often stand to learn and gain much more from the people in the village. Being a penpal with someone from the village is an amazing way to create cultural exchange, whether you are a young child or an elder. There is always something we can learn from people living in different cultures and communities. Many of the members of Putti Village are eager to find someone to communicate with outside their village. We hope you will participate.

If you have a preference for the age, gender, interests, or religion of your penpal please let us know and we will find someone accordingly. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so that we can set you up with your new Ugandan friend.

Putti Uganda's Poultry Farm Expansion - UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

The poultry farm in Putti has now been fully funded for expansion thanks to the generous donations of Ros Eisen. Putti will now house about 1,400 chickens. This is a tremendous increase in business and economic/food stability for the villagers in Putti Uganda.

We still need donors for the chickens and feed! For a donation of just $5.00 you can help purchase and feed a chicken in Putti Uganda. Make your $5.00 donation today!

Why a poultry farm is important: With the completion of the second dedicated building for a poultry farm Putti will now be able to raise 1,400 chickens at once. This will help supply the strong demand that exists for the chickens Puttians have been raising. This will dramatically increase economic stability for Putti as well as provide a steady source of calories and nutrition in their diet.

Buy the gift of life - of food - as a birthday gift, thank you, memorial, or other such occasion. Your every gift helps to feed and educate the beautiful people of Putti.

BUDGET FOR SINKING WELL AND WATER PUMP IN PUTTI VILLAGE (COMPLETED!)

Document showing an estimate by professional engineers for drilling a water hole in Putti.

In the words of Enosh, one of the leaders of Putti, "On another note, I was advised by the engineer that its advantageous for us if the borehole is drilled in dry seasons like now. This is because the water base is very low, and so when it comes to rainy seasons, the water base is high. Its not good to drill in rainy seasons because the water base is high, so when it comes to dry seasons, we might lack water."

Upon the excellent idea and collaboration of several members, we have come up with a plan that will help create economic independence for the Putti villagers.

With the sinking of a well and a water pump, bricks can be made to complete the school, the homes and eventually the guest house with a simple restaurant (so guests can pay to be based there and know they will have what to eat). Extra mud bricks could be sold for further revenue.

COFFEE FARM IN UGANDA - ONGOING

Coffee is an excellent cash crop in Uganda. Putti Village will now begin growing coffee so that they can sell this crop to the outside world in order to raise money. This will be a major step in their gaining economic self sustainability.

When the time comes we will look to you to purchase the coffee and to help us find outlets for the sale of the wonderful coffee they are growing. If you would like to stay up to date about this you may contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
